The CDU's platform tends to prioritize economic stability and individual responsibility, rather than extensive government intervention in social issues. However, the CDU does seek to address social concerns within the framework of its conservative values. **

It is difficult to predict with certainty which party CDU voters would choose if the CDU had never existed, as individual political preferences can vary widely. However, it is possible that some CDU voters might have chosen the Christian Social Union (CSU), which is a sister party of the CDU and operates primarily in the state of Bavaria. Others might have gravitated towards more centrist or conservative parties such as the Free Democratic Party (FDP) or the Alternative for Germany (AfD). Ultimately, without the existence of the CDU, the German political landscape would likely have evolved in a different way, making it challenging to determine the exact party preferences of former CDU voters. **
